Autopilot CSV checker
Check a hardware hash CSV against Microsoft's import rules before you upload it to Intune: the exact headers, no quotes, ANSI text, no more than 500 devices, no duplicate hashes and valid assigned users. Then download a fixed file, split into batches of 500 if you need to.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere.
Loading the file is better than pasting: it lets the tool check the file's encoding too.
The rules
- The header must be
Device Serial Number,Windows Product ID,Hardware Hash, optionally followed by,Group Tagand,Assigned User. Headers are case-sensitive and extra columns aren't allowed. - Quotation marks aren't allowed, and the file must be ANSI text, not Unicode.
- A file can hold up to 500 devices. Check each batch has registered before importing the next.
- Duplicate hardware hashes are rejected as
ZtdDeviceDuplicated. Microsoft only checks that an assigned user's domain is valid, so a mistyped UPN can leave a device unusable until it's fixed. - Edit the file in Notepad, not Excel. Saving from Excel doesn't produce a file Intune can import.
