Privacy

This covers the website azureblog.co.uk and the Azure Blog app, which shows the same site. Last updated 13 October 2026.

The short version

  • There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies.
  • The tools run in your browser. Logs, tokens, SAML responses and files you paste or open in them are processed on your device and never uploaded.
  • Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

Visitor statistics

Page views are counted with GoatCounter, which records the page, the referring site, the browser, the screen size and the country. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't store your IP address. The "Was this useful?" buttons and topic suggestions are sent the same way, anonymously.

Stored on your device

Your theme choice, the posts you've read, learning path progress and quiz scores are kept in your browser's local storage, and pages you've opened are cached so they work offline. None of it leaves your device. Clearing your browser or app data removes it.

Tools that call other services

A few tools need to look something up, and send only what you type to do it, straight from your browser:

  • The tenant lookup and globe send the domain you enter to Microsoft's public sign-in endpoints at login.microsoftonline.com.
  • The DNS and email checks send the domain you enter to Google Public DNS and Cloudflare DNS.

Hosting

The site is served from Azure Static Web Apps. As with any website, Microsoft processes your IP address to deliver pages and may keep it in short-lived service logs.

Children

The site is written for IT professionals and isn't aimed at children.
